Aberaeron Town Council is the official name of the Town Council for the Town of Aberaeron and was formed as part of the re-organisation of local government in 1974 and is one of 735 town and community councils in Wales. It is the most local level of local government in the area.
The Council comprises 12 Councillors who represent the community of Aberaeron. A Town Mayor and a Deputy Mayor are elected at the Annual Meeting each year. The Town Mayor has two roles, namely to chair meetings of the Town Council and to undertake civic duties and act as ambassador for the town.
They are supported by the Town Clerk, Mr Denfer Morgan.
Certification and approval of Annual Accounts
for 2024-25
Regulation 15(1) of the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 (as amended) requires that Responsible Financial Officer of Cyngor Tref Aberaeron sign and date the statement of accounts, and certify that it presents fairly the financial position of Cyngor Tref Aberaeron at the end of the year and the Council’s income and expenditure for the year. The Regulations required that this be completed by 30 June 2025.
Due to administrative delays, the Responsible Financial Officer has not signed and certified the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025. The statement of accounts will be prepared and the Responsible Financial Officer will sign and certify the statement of accounts by 8th July 2025.
